Someone I know bought a house that was a complete wreck and an old lady had been living there on her own.
She had lived in squalor in the house - it was a big place but she only lived out of one or 2 rooms in it and obviously wasn't very well off. She had had no electricity in the house at one point as she wasn't able to meet her bills so her next door neighbour had an electrician come out and hook her house up to his meter so she didn't have to pay for her electricity.
